50% of Inspected Northern Businesses Found to Have Not Reported Their Income
Israel Tax Authority auditors found 50% of 40 inspected northern businesses failed to report income, highlighting ongoing tax evasion enforcement.
Jerusalem, 15 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Tax Authority reported that bookkeeping auditors at the Acre Tax Assessor’s Office, together with the National Bookkeeping Unit at the Tax Authority, conducted a targeted enforcement operation in the northern region as part of the ongoing enforcement and warning policy against tax evasion. As part of the operation, inspections were conducted at 40 businesses in the cities of Acre, Nahariya, Kfar Yassif, Yarka, Deir el-Assad, and Majdal Chrome. Of the businesses inspected, 50% did not record income, and three more cases of violation of the law to reduce the use of cash were recorded.
