$29 Million Allocated to Strengthen Local Authorities in the Negev and Galilee

Israel's Ministry invests $29 million in Negev and Galilee local authorities, funding projects like Nof HaGalil's indoor pool and Jordan Valley's medical.

Jerusalem, 1 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of the Negev, Galilee and National Resilience continues to financially strengthen local authorities and is investing over 93 million Shekels ($29 million) in economic projects that constitute local growth engines for the benefit of residents in the Negev and Galilee.

Sample projects approved as part of the call:

The Nof HaGalil Municipality has been approved for a project to upgrade the open municipal pool into an indoor complex that will allow year-round activity – a total of 4 million Shekels ($1.28 million).

A project to establish a paramedical and natural medicine center that will meet the needs of service providers and service needs from the entire region was approved for the Jordan Valley Regional Center – a total of 2 million Shekels ($640,000).

The Eshkol Regional Council has been approved for a savings project to address water scarcity in the council, which will allow for savings in the authority’s expenses and streamlining service to residents from an environmental perspective – a scope of approximately 2 million Shekels ($640,000).

And the Aeblin Local Council was approved for a project to renovate the council building and convert the entrance floor for rental as offices, which will constitute a yielding asset for the authority – a volume of 2 million Shekels ($640,000).
