Jerusalem, 5 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Led by Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, 25 local authorities completed the third cycle of the “Accelerator” program and formulated action plans for the transition to sustainable energy.
During the program, the authorities received professional guidance, advice and support from the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, managed by Matrix (P2), and in collaboration with energy experts. The guidance allowed the authorities to formulate action plans that included steps for energy efficiency, encouraging electric transportation and expanding renewable energy production in the authority’s assets – public buildings, street lighting and other urban infrastructure.
Special emphasis is placed on expanding the basket of tools available to the authorities, also for the purpose of assisting households, businesses, and the industrial sector in their areas, as part of preparing for climate change and increasing renewable energy production by 2030, in accordance with the vision of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.
The municipalities that participated in cycle 3 of the “Accelerator” program: Umm al-Fahm, Tamra, Herzliya, Safed, Beersheba, Mizraa, Beit El, Hora, Or Yehuda, Bat Yam, Ramat Gan, Ein Kaniya, Rehovot, Nahariya, Sajur, Harish, Tirat Carmel, Shomron, Kasifa, Kedumim, Taibe, Majd al-Krom, Reina, Jat, Yeroham.
