Jerusalem, 22 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Ministerial Committee for Legislative Affairs approved today (Sunday) the outline of state funding for employees who went on unpaid leave during the conflict with Iran and it now moves to the Knesset for further legislative proceedings.

The law deals with the relief provided to employees for entering a period of layoff (in which the employee is paid unemployment benefits at the expense of the state), with the bill concerning compensation for businesses to reach the ministerial committee on Tuesday.

The outline will enter into force after the legislative process is completed and approved by the Knesset, and will apply for the eligibility period to be determined by law.
