Jerusalem, 12 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — the State Attorney’s Office filed indictments with the Beersheba District Court against Wahel Al-Sara’ieh (25) and Madyan Al-Sara’ieh (24), who smuggled weapons via drone through the Jordanian border and collided with a military vehicle while trying to escape.
The Ministry of Justice explained that the border between the State of Israel and Jordan serves as an “infrastructure for criminal smuggling,” including smuggling of weapons, drugs, and migrant workers into the territories of the State of Israel and the Judea and Samaria region.
Since 2025, thousands of smugglings have been carried out into Israel via drones from the borders, some with drones capable of carrying tens of kilograms. During 2025, security forces seized approximately 90 guns smuggled from Jordan, while thousands of drone crossings were identified at the various borders, the vast majority of which were not thwarted.
