Police Commissioner Meets with Local Leaders on Fighting Crime in Arab Society

Israel's Police Commissioner Danny Levy met with Arab local authority heads in Jerusalem to discuss strengthening security and combating crime in Arab.

Jerusalem, 26 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s National Police Commissioner Danny Levy held a meeting with heads of Arab local authorities today, Sunday, at the national police headquarters in Jerusalem on the matter of the fight against crime in Israel’s Arab society.

During the meeting, key issues were discussed regarding strengthening security on Arab streets, ways to deal with the phenomena of violence and crime in Arab communities, and the need to deepen cooperation between the police, heads of authorities, and various public representatives.

The Commissioner reviewed with those present the police’s activities from the day he took office to the present, and reiterated the commitment of the Israel Police to continue to act without compromise against the criminal organizations that harm normative citizens, and to do everything possible to eradicate crime.

The heads of the local authorities congratulated the Commissioner for holding the meeting, and pledged to continue to strengthen cooperation with the Israel Police, in order to severely harm criminal organizations.
