Jerusalem, 8 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — A 61-year-old eastern Jerusalem man is under arrest after Israeli police found in his home stolen rare ancient coins and an oxygen generator worth NIS 12,000 ($3,800).
The coins — including one featuring Emperor Vespasian and others from the Byzantine and Muslim periods — were confirmed by the Israel Antiquities Authority. Due to their cultural significance, the coins will be transferred to the state.
The oxygen generator was returned to its owner.
