IDF Ammunition Theft Case: Two Suspects Arrested in Possession of Drugs, Tavor Rifle, Grenades, and Ammunition

An active-duty soldier and a civilian arrested in Jerusalem for IDF ammunition theft, found with drugs, a Tavor rifle, grenades, and bullets.

Jerusalem, 20 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Police reported that a case was uncovered involving the theft of combat equipment from the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) by an active-duty soldier, who allegedly transferred it to a civilian who sold it to criminal elements. The soldier and the civilian were both arrested.

As the investigation moved to the open stage, the forces located the suspect, a resident of Beer Ganim, while he was in his vehicle. The suspect was detained and taken to his home for a search, during which materials suspected to be drugs and an IDF Tavor rifle, converted for gas firing, were seized.

In the continuation of the activity, the suspected soldier was located at his home in Moshav Noga, and in his possession were seized various types of drugs as well as seven IDF smoke grenades, an IDF vest, bullets, and magazines.

The two suspects were arrested and transferred for further investigation.
