Following a covert investigation by the Central Unit of the Border Police in the Coastal District, indictments were filed against two illegal residents suspected of carrying out a series of residential burglaries over the past two months.

According to the investigation findings, the gang members infiltrated the community of Eliachin. Subsequently, they broke into the home of a reservist soldier serving in the south of the country, stole property, and fled the scene. A short time later, they attempted another burglary in a nearby apartment. The indictment also states that during the burglaries, the defendants stole, among other things, jewelry, cash, and personal property worth tens of thousands of shekels, causing damage to the apartments they broke into. The stolen jewelry was located and returned to the apartment owner and his wife. As part of an initiative by detectives and Border Police fighters, the gang was exposed in an open area near the community of Eliachin, and two of its members were arrested after committing the offenses, with some of the property they are suspected of having stolen shortly before in their possession.
