Two suspects were arrested and a drone, an all-terrain vehicle, and a large quantity of drugs were seized in two separate operations as part of the ongoing struggle against arms and drug smuggling on the western border. Border Police fighters from the Southern District, together with the Air Unit of the Israel Police and the Mounts Battalion, operated in two separate operational activities in the Par’an Brigade area of the Southern Command, near the border. In the first operation, forces acted to thwart a smuggling cell that was suspected of dealing in arms and drug smuggling. During the operation, members of the cell were identified and two suspects were arrested. The forces found a large drone in their possession, which was suspected of being used for smuggling across the border. In a separate operational activity, forces seized an all-terrain vehicle containing a large quantity of substances suspected to be drugs, which were suspected to be intended for smuggling. The two suspects who were arrested and the findings that were seized were transferred for further investigation at the Shagav Shalom station.
