14 Arrested in Jerusalem on Suspicion of Plotting to Perform Passover Sacrifice on Temple Mount
Fourteen individuals, including minors, were arrested in Jerusalem for allegedly planning to conduct an illegal Passover sacrifice of goats on the Temple Mount.
Jerusalem, 1 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Fourteen people, some of whom are minors, were arrested in Jerusalem on suspicion of plotting to perform the ritual Passover sacrifice of goats on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Such activities on the Temple Mount are illegal.
The people were arrested at several locations while transporting goats towards the Temple Mount, for the purpose of attempting to perform the sacrifice.
Attorney Nati Rom and Attorney Daniel Shimsilashvili of the Honenu organization are assisting the detainees and working to release them before the holiday begins
A legal source told the TPS-IL news agency that the expectation is to release all Passover detainees before the holiday begins under restrictive conditions of two-day exclusion from the Old City area of Jerusalem and 15 days from the Temple Mount, its gates and entrances.
