New Israel–Brazil Partnership Aims to Boost Corn Yields Under Drought Conditions
Israeli firm PlantArcBio and Brazil's Helix Sementes forge a partnership to introduce drought-resilient, high-yield corn in South America.
Jerusalem, 25 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli ag-biotechnology firm PlantArcBio is moving to scale its technology in South America through a new licensing agreement focused on drought-resilient corn. The new partnership with Helix Sementes e Biotecnologia, a Brazilian seed company within the Agroceres Group, will develop and commercialize high-yield corn traits for major regional markets, including Brazil and Argentina.
Under the agreement, Helix will integrate PlantArcBio’s proprietary genes—identified through its patented DIP platform—into elite corn germplasm. The genes have demonstrated consistent yield improvements under both irrigated and drought-stress conditions.
