FM Sa’ar addresses the opening of the Israel-Argentina Business Forum

Minister of foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar today (Tuesday, 25 november 2025) addressed the opening of the Israel-Argentina Business Forum alongside Argentina’s Foreign Minister Quirno. Following is FM Sa’ar’s full speech:

“It’s an honor to open the Israel-Argentina Business Forum in Buenos Aires today.

I thank you, Minister Quirno.

I had very good meetings today with President Milei, and with you, Minister.

I look forward to working very closely together.

The relationship between israel and Argentina is not only special. It is extraordinary.

Argentina has stood firmly by Israel through our darkest hours, during the last two years.

This will not be forgotten.

Argentina has been, and continues to be, a trusted partner on the right side of history.

We believe in Argentina under the leadership of President Milei.

We believe in its bright future.

President Milei is repaving Argentina’s path to greatness.

We fully support the strategic economic reform that he is championing.

President Milei’s reform is one of the most ambitious in the world today.

The IMF’s decision last April was a clear vote of confidence.

It affirmed faith in President Milei’s bold reforms – and in the strength of the Argentine economy.

We believe Argentina’s economy is taking off.

This is a big country.

It has all the natural resources and talented people.

Let’s recall Argentina’s history.

It was once a destination for many European immigrants – because of the great opportunities it opened for entrepreneurs and talented people. They came from all over Europe, including many Jews.

This is how my grandfather David, of blessed memory, came here, a little over 99 years ago:

As a young man without means – he became a successful and well-established businessman here in Argentina.

Throughout the years, failed leaderships hurt Argentina’s economy again and again.

Today, Argentina is on the right path.

I believe that when you combine that with Israeli talent and technology – and mutual investment opportunities – something powerful can happen.

We will work together very closely to overcome bureaucracy. As a young coalition Chairman, I brought then Finance Minister Netanyahu’s economic reform to the plenum. But we can not rest.

Our governments are extremely close. We want to strengthen economic and people-to-people ties.

We have a big Jewish community in Argentina – and a very big community of Argentine immigrants, olim, in Israel.

This is a significant human bridge that can assist in establishing these strong economic relations.

We want to dramatically increase our investments in Argentina.

I am pleased to announce Israel’s decision to open an Economic Attaché Office here in Buenos Aires in 2026.

This also shows our commitment to increasing our economic partnership.

During President Milei’s historic visit to Israel in June, we announced our intention to establish direct flights between Israel and Argentina.

A government decision was approved. And we are now moving to the operational stage. I hope and I believe it won’t be long and this will boost our economic relations.

We also want to boost our imports from Argentina.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Our economic delegation today is an expression of our belief in Argentina’s economy under President Milei.

It includes senior government officials, company representatives, and key economic leaders.

There are and will be many B2B and B2G meetings: in Energy, Digital Health, Cyber, space and more.

But this is more than a trade mission.

It’s a reaffirmation that Israel and Argentina will continue to stand closely together.

Minister, we are looking forward to your visit in February. We hope to have the President in April or May to open Argentina’s embassy in Jerusalem DC, David’s Capital.

Argentina e Israel: Amigos verdaderos, socios estratégicos y un futuro brillante y compartido.

Argentina and Israel: True friends, strategic partners, and a bright, shared future.

Thank you, muchas gracias!”
