Ramat Gan Safari moves to Ariel Sharon Park as Minister Silman and Mayor HaCohen sign agreement for environmental, economic growth and improved animal welfare.

Business

Jerusalem, 4 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Environmental Protection Minister Idit Silman and Ramat Gan Mayor Carmel Shama HaCohen signed an agreement of principles to relocate the city’s famed safari complex to Ariel Sharon Park. The Ministry said this is an environmental and economic planning initiative that will serve as an engine for environmental and social growth, strengthen the ecological continuity in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, improve animal welfare, and create conditions for the development of land reserves for housing and employment in Ramat Gan.

The relocation of the safari complex to its new location will include the establishment of an advanced environmental educational complex, improve the living conditions of the animals, and creating a continuous ecological open space connecting the National Park and Ariel Sharon Park, while also addressing broad planning needs in the central region. The move combines an advanced environmental concept with a broad social and economic contribution and is expected to strengthen the open public space and the quality of life of hundreds of thousands of residents, creating an environmental and social growth engine in the heart of the metropolis.
