Following an inspection carried out by the Customs Intelligence Mail Inspectors Department of the Central Customs House, an investigation was opened by the Customs House’s YASAM unit against Yitzhak and Nava Tivoni, owners of a company that imports and markets dietary supplements, on suspicion that they commercially imported approximately 3,700 packages of dietary supplements worth hundreds of thousands of shekels through the Israel Postal Company, disguised as personal imports, while evading import taxes and the presentation of Ministry of Health approval. 

The arrest request indicates that the suspects have been acting since 2023 to import food supplements from a foreign company in Bulgaria that they own, to market and sell them in the State of Israel, while carrying out the import of goods through the Israel Postal Company under the procedure of personal import, and also using multiple names to evade customs authorities. In doing so, the suspects evaded the payment of import taxes and the presentation of approval from the Ministry of Health. 

From the investigation findings, it appears that the suspects imported approximately 3,700 packages under the procedure of personal import, worth hundreds of thousands of shekels. Yesterday, the investigation concerning them became public, and they were brought for investigation at the YASAM unit at the Central Customs House. Subsequently, they were brought before a judge at the Rishon LeZion Magistrate’s Court, who decided to release them under restrictive conditions. The investigation is ongoing.
