Wounded Sea Turtle Rescued by Divers Clearing Marine Debris
Israeli divers rescue wounded sea turtle with missing leg off Shavei Zion coast. Turtle transferred to Sea Turtle Rescue Center for treatment.
Jerusalem, 6 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israeli divers clearing debris off the coast of Shavei Zion for the development of a desalination plant rescued a 37-kg. brown sea turtle with a missing leg.
According to the Nature and Parks Authority, the turtle was unable to dive because of its injuries.
The turtle was transferred to the Nature and Parks Authority’s Sea Turtle Rescue Center in Michmoret for treatment. It is receiving fluids, antibiotics, and further tests to assess its condition. The turtle was spotted earlier this week near Rosh Hanikra.
