Western Galilee Highways Getting Upgrades

Jerusalem, 31 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Transportation and Netivei (Routes or Lanes in Hebrew) Israel are promoting a project to upgrade Highway 70 between the Yagur Interchange and the Givat Alonim Interchange. Highway 70 runs north south on the western side of the Galilee from the border with Lebanon down to the lower Galilee. The two interchanges are located about 20 KM (12 miles) southeast of Haifa.

The project will connect Israel’s north/south toll Highway 6 and Highway 75 and creating important transportation connectivity between the northern settlements and Haifa Bay.

The project will cost 8 million Shekels ($2.35 million).
