Weapons Seized, Five Arrested During Post-Election Celebration in Israeli Bedouin Town

Jerusalem, 16 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Following local elections in in the Israeli Bedouin town of Tuba-Zangariyye, security forces arrested five suspects and confiscated several weapons during post-election celebrations, the Israeli Police said.

Gunshots were reported from a compound linked to the winning candidate. Police entered the area, arresting two suspects for firearm use and three others who resisted. Weapons seized included a pistol, an M16 rifle, and stun grenades. All the suspects are local residents.

Police added that more than 660 lethal weapons have been seized in the Northern District since January.
