Jerusalem, 28 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Health reported that an unvaccinated toddler from Jerusalem has died from measles, marking the sixth death since the outbreak began, with four occurring in the past week.
Twenty-four patients are hospitalized, mostly unvaccinated children under six, the ministry added. Seven are intensive care.
Measles, a highly contagious and potentially life-threatening disease, is preventable through vaccination. Health authorities urge all children to receive the measles vaccine at ages one and six, with additional doses recommended in outbreak areas.
