Two Arrested Smuggling Fortune in Tobacco Products to Gaza

Jerusalem, 18 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Two Arab-Israeli truck drivers were arrested on suspicion of attempting to smuggle into Gaza large quantities of tobacco products and cigarettes with an estimated value of hundreds of thousands of shekels. The goods, which are currently prohibited for transfer to the Gaza Strip, were uncovered within a shipment of humanitarian aid.

The two were stopped while driving their trucks at the Kissufim crossing to Gaza on August 13.

The Israel Police identified the drivers only as residents of Daburiyya and Zarzir, Arab towns near Nazareth.
