Jerusalem, 28 January, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Police arrested 26 people – illegal immigrants, their employers and drivers. The arrests came as part of a “targeted police enforcement” against the offenses of employing, transporting, and harboring illegal immigrants, carried out at businesses and construction sites where there is concern that illegal immigrants may be present, with the aim, said the police, of “strengthening the safety and security of the public.”

In one incident, police officers at the Tel Aviv Lev police station arrested a 43-year-old Jaffa resident who was carrying 16 illegal immigrants in his vehicle. The vehicle was seized and transported to a police tow truck.

In another, officers station located seven illegal residents, residents of the Palestinian areas, at a construction site in Ramat Hasharon. The employer, a 78-year-old resident of the city, was arrested at the scene.

Also, police officers from the Tel Aviv North Station arrested three illegal immigrants who were suspected of being employed at a place used as a hostel in the north of the city. The employer, a 39-year-old Tel Aviv resident, was detained for questioning.

Jerusalem, 27 January, 2026 (TPS-IL) — A new law to establish a reporting and monitoring mechanism for wheat and fodder stocks promoted by the ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has made final passage in the knesset. The bill will enable high emergency preparedness, data-based decision-making, and strengthening national food security, said the Ministry.

The bill is intended to enable the State of Israel to obtain a complete and continuous picture of the operational stock of essential food in the economy, alongside the management of the existing emergency stock, thereby strengthening the state’s preparedness for disruptions in supply chains and emergency situations. According to the bill, entities holding stocks of wheat for human consumption or fodder components will be required to report online to the Ministry of Agriculture, monthly and annually, through a dedicated system that the ministry is currently developing. The data collected will allow for trend analysis, identification of seasonal gaps and assessment of the scope of stocks at a given time.

Among the types of stocks that will be required in the report: corn and barley kernels, soybean meal, linseed and sunflower meal, corn gluten, palm fat, and vitamin and mineral supplements for cattle, sheep and poultry. The reporting obligation will apply to all parties in the industry, including flour mills, mixing plants, food centers, grain trading corporations, dairy farms, chicken coops and housing, and will also include specifying the geographical location and details of the owner of the inventory. Accordingly, designated inspectors will be authorized for control and monitoring.

Jerusalem, 27 January, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) said that earlier this evening (Tuesday), it identified about ten suspects who approached the country’s territory in suspicious and rapid movement, near Moshav Paran, located 100 KM north of Eilat.

Numerous IDF forces, including special units and Air Force aircraft, were deployed to the area and searched the area in order to locate the suspects.

After extensive searches and blocking roads in the area, infiltration into Israeli territory was ruled out and the IDF said there is no fear of a security incident.

This is according to the data revealed today, Tuesday January 27, 2026, by the head of Israel’s National Cyber Directorate, Yossi Karadi, at the 2026 Cybertech Global Expo Tel Aviv. These cyber incidents were handled by the Directorate.

The three sectors which saw the most attempted cyber-attacks last year were the financial, government sector, and digital services sectors. Many of the incidents were detected in time and prevented without damage, while others resulted in significant damage to the organization itself, to connected organizations, or to information.

Karadi also presented for the first time Israel’s multi-year national cyber plan, which focuses on three main axes: cloud security, Cyber-AI, and readiness for the quantum era. At the same time, the plan promotes the strengthening of national infrastructure, detection and response capabilities, national defense platforms, and the establishment of national laboratories in the fields of artificial intelligence and deepfake.

In addition, Karadi emphasized the importance of cooperation between the government and the Israeli cyber industry and international collaborations: “We cannot choose when the next war will break out, but we can choose to be prepared,” he said. “The government sets a strategy and leads national defense, but it is the Israeli industry, with its innovation, agility, and operational experience, that allows Israel to be prepared for the first cyber war.”

Jerusalem, 27 January, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Police officers from the Judea and Samaria District rescued an Israeli citizen and three foreign residents who had entered areas under the Palestinian Authority and whose lives, said the police, were in danger.

On Tuesday afternoon a report was received about four Israelis who had entered Jericho, located in the Palestinian Authority in the areas of Judea and Samaria. Officers from the Police Coordination and Cooperation Unit in the Judea and Samaria District, in collaboration with the Civil Administration, acted to locate and rescue them. Upon their transfer to Israeli territory, it was determined that the group consisted of one Israeli citizen and three foreign residents who were unaware of the danger to their lives.

The police said that they, “reiterate and emphasize – the entry of Israeli citizens into areas under the control of the Palestinian Authority is prohibited by law and constitutes a real danger to life.”

Jerusalem, 27 January, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Today, Tuesday, January 27, in a historic event, a state ceremony was held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, a Muslim nation, to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

The ceremony was attended by Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev, diplomats, senior government officials, members of parliament, heads of religious communities and university rectors in Kazakhstan.

The event was held at the initiative of the Israeli Embassy in Kazakhstan together with the German Embassy and under the leadership of the ICIID (Interfaith and Interreligious Dialogue) under the ministry of Culture of Kazakhstan.

“Unfortunately, the ancient disease of anti-Semitism is once again showing its ugly face,” Sa’ar said at the event. “The new anti-Semitism is trying to undermine the right of the Jewish people to defend themselves. We have already seen what happens when we do not have the ability to do so.”

Saa’r went on to remind the world of the antisemitic slaughter in Australia on Hanukah and the October 7 massacre adding, “That is why I say this today, we have sworn – never again! This oath will not be broken. The Jewish state will defend itself vigorously against any threat. We have no other choice. We will fulfill this vow.”

Earlier, Minister Kosherbayev made the following comments: “Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in April 1992, we have built comprehensive cooperation based on mutual respect and trust and achieved significant progress in political, economic and cultural interaction. Jerusalem, 27 January, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Defense Forces on Tuesday confirmed striking Hezbollah terrorists the previous day while they were operating at an underground site in the Nabatieh area of southern Lebanon.

“The activity carried out by Hezbollah terrorists to restore the site constitutes a violation of the ceasefire understandings between israel and Lebanon and poses a threat to the State of Israel,” the IDF said.

The ceasefire requires Hezbollah to withdraw its armed forces from southern Lebanon and prohibits it from operating south of the Litani River.
