Breaking News

The Tax Authority allows switching from the regular track for direct damage claims to the fast track, where claims of up to NIS 30,000 are processed within 7 days, without the need for an appraiser to visit the site.

This option is intended for individuals whose homes, household contents, businesses, or business equipment and inventory were damaged by Iranian missile attacks, and whose total damage does not exceed NIS 30,000 — but who have already submitted a claim via the regular track and are still awaiting an appraiser. Some citizens received a text message from the Tax Authority last Wednesday informing them that this option would become available on the following Monday.

To switch tracks, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the “File an online claim- direct damages” page on the Israel Tax Authority website.
  2. Select “Submit form under the regular track”.
  3. Log in using the same credentials as for the personal area.
  4. Your existing claim will appear – click the “Switch Track” button.
  5. Complete the required details and declarations and submit the form.
  6. Once completed, the claim will be moved to processing under the fast track.

In the fast track, the claim is handled entirely online. The claimant uploads photos of the damage, price quotes for repair, and any additional relevant documents. The Compensation Fund reviews the file and either approves it or requests further documentation.
Remember, Claims for vehicle damage cannot be submitted under this track. It is not possible to appeal partial claim approvals (i.e., if compensation awarded is less than requested), only full denials.

After the claim is approved, the claimant must upload invoices showing that the funds were used for the purposes claimed — within 30 days. Failure to submit invoices on time, or submission of false declarations, will result in a demand to return the compensation and the imposition of legal measures.
