Several Minor Injuries as a Result of the Missile Strike at the Soroka Medical Center
A number of minor injuries as a result of the missile strike at the Soroka Medical Center. Minor damage was caused to the emergency room and other buildings, which does not affect the medical center's ability to operate.
With the start of the operation, the Ministry of Health instructed a reduction of dozens of percent in the number of patients at Soroka, as well as in other medical centers, as well as taking patients to a protected underground space. These instructions, along with instructions for additional reduction given last night, to the Soroka Medical Center as well, helped save lives; the missile directly hit a ward that had been evacuated only hours earlier, under the direction of the Director General of the Ministry of Health.
The management of the Soroka Medical Center, together with officials from the Ministry of Health, the Home Front Command and security officials, are working in full cooperation to manage the incident, maintain safety and continue regular medical treatment.
The public is asked to avoid coming to the Soroka Medical Center emergency room.
The response to those in need of medical services will be provided – until further notice – by referring them to Barzilai, Assuta Ashdod and Kaplan hospitals.
It should be emphasized that since the hospitals must, of course, continue their activities in times of emergency – the guidelines for their operation are based on precise and escalating risk management, while dealing with the possibility of direct damage.
