Jerusalem, 30 June, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The 2015 Israel school year came to an end today (Monday) as 1.7 million elementary school and kindergarten students joined middle and high school students, and headed off for summer vacation. Among those graduating from elementary school are 168,000 sixth-grade students, who began their studies in first grade when the coronavirus crisis broke out.
Tomorrow (Tuesday), the Ministry of Education’s summer programs – “Summer Vacation Schools” – will open in kindergartens and elementary schools in all local authorities. Approximately 750,000 students have already registered for these programs, which provide educational, emotional, and academic support for children ages 3-9, including children who were evacuated from their homes and have been in alternative sites this year.
