School Grants Increased to Aid More Israeli Families Ahead of New Year
Israeli families receive increased school grants to aid children ahead of new year. National Insurance Institute transfers NIS 328 million to support 278,500
Jerusalem, 11 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s National Insurance Institute on Monday transferred NIS 328 million ( $95.8 million) in school grants to help 278,500 children prepare for the upcoming school year. The payment, amounting to NIS 1,176 ( $343) per child aged 6–18, is intended for single-parent households and families with four or more children who also receive allowances such as income security, disability, unemployment or child benefits.
This year’s aid reached 117,782 single-parent families and 22,474 large families — increases from last year — and is NIS 28 million ( $8.1 million) higher than 2024’s total.
