Return Visas Extended for Foreign Workers Caught Abroad When Israel’s Airspace Closed
Jerusalem, 23 June, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Foreign Workers Administration at Israel’s Population and Immigration Authority announced that, due to the security situation and the closure of Israel’s airspace, the validity of re-entry visas (inter-visas) has been extended for foreign workers who left Israel for home leave.
Workers who left Israel with a re-entry visa that expired or will expire between June 12, 2025 and July 30, 2025, will be able to return to Israel until July 31, 2025 – without the need to issue a new visa or contact the authority.
The extension of validity is carried out automatically in the computerized systems of the Population and Immigration Authority, and the extended permits will appear at border checkpoints.
The goal, said the Administration, is to enable the return of workers who were forced to remain abroad and to maintain the functional continuity of the industry at this time.
