Jerusalem, 1 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The remains handed over to Israel yesterday do not belong to any of the Israeli hostages known to have been killed. This finding was announced this morning following an examination at the Institute of Forensic Medicine.

Israeli officials had already estimated that it was unlikely that the remains belonged to the hostages.

According to an unnamed source quoted in Yedioth Ahronot, newspaper this specific incident does not constitute a violation because, from the outset, it was assessed that there was a low probability that the remains belonged to hostages. However, the source pointed out that this in no way alters the fact that Hamas is still in violation of the agreement by failing to return the deceased.
