Jerusalem, 15 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure declared that, about a year after it was launched, the reform of the import of electrical products is “proving itself – product prices are falling, the public’s spending on electricity is decreasing, and consumption is becoming more efficient.” This is part of the government of Israel’s “What Is Good for Europe” program that reduces import regulations to the European Standards in order to increase competition in the marketplace.
As part of the reform, the requirement to present multiple permits for the import of electrical products was eliminated, and it was determined that proof that the product is marketed in Europe and is in the official European register is sufficient for import into Israel. The electrical products market in Israel, which turns over 10 billion shekels a year, is already experiencing significant positive changes.
The reform also allows importers to import electrical products marketed in Europe “at the click of a button and without unnecessary bureaucracy.”
