Description: The Ministry of Health reports a medium-sized light brown dog infected with rabies in the village of Dolev. The dog wandered around Dolev and nearby villages, including Zait Ra’anan, Nahliel, Sde Ephraim, Talmon, Neria, Kerem Re’im, Harsha, Horesher Yaron, and Neria. Five people who were exposed to the dog have been referred for preventive rabies treatment. The report about the infected dog was received yesterday, November 18, 2025.
Dates: November 2, 2025, to November 16, 2025, inclusive
Instructions:
Anyone who was in contact with, or whose animals came into contact with, the infected or stray animal in the area during the dates listed above should urgently contact the Ramla Health Bureau at 08-9181202, or their nearest health bureau, to assess the need for preventive treatment.
After working hours and on weekends, contact the emergency room at a hospital.
Please share this information with hikers and visitors in the area and nearby villages.
Parents are asked to check with their children if they were in contact with any suspicious animals and contact the health bureau immediately.
Pet owners should contact the local veterinarian to verify vaccination status.
The Ministry of Health reminds anyone who was bitten or scratched by an animal to immediately wash the area with running water and soap, disinfect it, and go to the health bureau to determine whether preventive rabies treatment is needed.
