Jerusalem, 4 June, 2025 (TPS-IL) — As part of Israel’s ongoing fight against violent and organized crime in Arab communities, the National Police Commissioner held a special discussion in Lod on the topic of preventing violent crime between Arab clans and increasing police enforcement in those areas.

Lod is a low-income city with a mixed Jewish and Arab population, which has also been known as a center for reputed crime groups.

During the Commissioner’s discussion, a review of “targeted operational deployment” against organized crime was conducted in accordance with the map of crime and violent conflicts between the various clans, while specifying the methods of enforcement in the criminal and financial areas.

In addition, a series of murder cases were presented and issues of means and operational deployment of the various police units were examined, which led to the exposure and seizure of over a hundred weapons and items of armament since the beginning of the year, while thwarting and arresting murder squads.

The Commissioner praised the district’s activities and noted that crime elements must continue to be burdened with all means, capabilities and authorities.
