Jerusalem, 6 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Transportation is promoting a detailed plan to preserve and to upgrade the activities of the Rishon LeZion Airfield, Minchat Rishon LeZion, which serves as a central hub for sports aviation activities, pilot training, and nurturing the next generation of Israeli pilots. The airfield is located in central Israel just south of Tel Aviv.
“Rishon LeZion Airfield is a significant anchor in the field of sport aviation in the country,” said the Ministry. “In addition, it is a unique platform for practical pilot training, aviation education, classes for children and teenagers, welfare and hobby activities for the general public, and training flights in collaboration with educational institutions.”
Netivei Israel, as the implementation arm of the Ministry of Transportation, has begun detailed planning work, which is expected to include advanced infrastructure solutions, preservation of unique areas for educational activities, and coordination with all relevant parties to rapidly advance the plan.
