Jerusalem, 13 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The State Attorney’s Office of Israel announced that a letter that many Israelis have been receiving by email over the past 24 hours, purporting to be a summons from the State Attorney’s Office for a police investigation for sexual harassment, is not genuine.

The email was sent from a seemingly reliable address of the Ministry of Justice, but no such letter was sent from any source in the Prosecutor’s Office.

“We emphasize that the Prosecutor’s Office does not have a ‘Criminal Prosecutions Department,’ said the Office, “and as a rule, the Prosecutor’s Office does not summon suspects for questioning by the police.”
