Jerusalem, 21 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — A tourist from New Zealand, in her 40s, who arrived in late April 2025, was arrested in early July after she was found documenting the activities of IDF (Israel Defense Forces) soldiers and interfering with their activities in the Hebron area, reported Israel’s Population and Immigration Authority. The tourist was warned three times before her arrest not to disturb the security forces and will now be deported to her home country.
About two weeks ago, she was brought to a hearing before a border control officer in the Enforcement and Foreigners Administration of the Population and Immigration Authority, where she was warned that arriving in this area constituted a violation of her tourist visa.
The tourist was arrested again a few days ago when she was again documenting and interfering with the activities of IDF soldiers in the Hebron area. Hanel received another warning.
This week, when she was arrested for the third time, after a hearing and the realization that warnings were not enough, it was decided to deport her from Israel as early as tomorrow.
