Jerusalem, 15 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) — After what was described as “intensive work” over the past two years, which included joint working teams from the Ministries of Communications, Justice, Finance and Israel’s Competition Authority, the Ministry of Communications is launching what it calls the “most comprehensive” reform of the broadcasting market in Israel. The reform will provide the consumer with “complete freedom of choice” and allow him to select the content according to his personal preferences, without being dependent on forced and expensive packages.
In other words, cable and other television providers will no longer be able to set pre-determined packages of channels, but instead will need to let the consumer decide how many channels to pay for.
The reform will allow Israeli consumers to save hundreds of shekels per year for each household.
