New program approved by Israeli government to increase assistance for families of military reservists. Dedicated headquarters to be established for reservists'
Jerusalem, 27 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The government of Israel unanimously approved a program for the strengthening the system for families of reserve service members will be carried out by the Ministry of the Negev, Galilee and National Resilience.
This, said the Ministry, will allow the government to establish a dedicated headquarters for the families of reservists that will operate under the Youth Authority in the Ministry of the Negev, Galilee and National Resilience and in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, the IDF’s Personnel Division, the Regional Government Center and the Local Government Center, and with the support of the Jewish Federations of North America and a number of civil society organizations.
The Ministry, through the Youth Authority, currently assists reservists and their families and budgets dozens of reservist coordinators scattered in various authorities across the country where there are a significant number of reservists and whose role is to constitute a kind of “green lane” for families with various bureaucratic problems that arise with the local authority. This government decision gives the Youth Authority in the Ministry of the Negev, Galilee and National Resilience the ability to carry out a large-scale project, within the framework of which specialized training will be provided to reserve coordinators in the authorities, budgets to conduct various workshops, and welfare activities for family members who bear no less of the burden.
