Jerusalem, 3 June, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Haifa-based startup Meala FoodTech has partnered with Swiss-Dutch multinational corporation dsm-firmenich to launch Vertis PB Pea, a multifunctional texturizing protein for plant-based meat alternatives. Now available in Europe, the clean-label ingredient replaces artificial binders like hydrocolloids, boosting nutrition and simplifying ingredient lists. Protected by two patents, Vertis PB Pea delivers binding, gelation, and emulsifying properties in one thermostable, allergen-free component.

The deal includes both distribution and venture investment, enabling Meala to scale internationally and advance a new generation of plant-based innovation.
