Netanyahu Speaks with Australian Jewish Leaders on Bondi Beach Attack
Israeli PM Netanyahu spoke with Sydney Jewish leaders after the Bondi Beach attack, condemning antisemitism and assuring support for the community.
Jerusalem, 17 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke Wednesday morning with the Chabad emissary and Av Beit Din (head of the rabbinical court) in Sydney, Australia, Rabbi Yehoram Ullman, father-in-law of Rabbi Eli Schlenger, who was murdered in the terrorist attack on Bondi Beach, and with the chairman of the Israel-Australia Jewish Council, Attorney arsen ostrovsky, who was injured in the attack and released from the hospital.
On behalf of his wife and on behalf of the entire Jewish people, the Prime Minister shared Rabbi Ullman’s grief and the grief of all the families of the murdered, and wished a full recovery to the injured.
The Prime Minister said that these criminal acts are the result of rampant anti-Semitism in the face of weak policies by the authorities in the country and the Australian government, which is committed to acting immediately with all tools to eradicate terrorism and restore security to Jewish communities.
The Prime Minister said that the State of Israel stands by the Jewish community in Australia, and sought to strengthen the Chabad emissaries and the Jews of Australia who stand firm and hold fast with great faith and a great spirit against those who seek our harm.
