Jerusalem, 23 June, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Population and Immigration Authority reported on the number of Israelis who are named ”Lion” or something that is a variation of the word in Hebrew for Lion, since the ongoing operation against Iran’s nuclear capabilities is called “Rising Lion.”
Ari? Lavi? Lish? Livia?
Here is all the data:
Ari (lion) – 13,603 Israelis whose first name is Ari, of whom 13,377 are boys and 226 are girls.
Aryeh (lion) – 30,161 Israelis whose names are Aryeh.
Lavi (baby lion) – 17,313 Israelis whose first name is Lavi, of whom 17,222 are boys and 91 are girls.
Livia (female lion) – 488 Israeli women whose first name is Livia.
Kfir (lion cub) – 7,156 Israelis named Kfir, of whom 7,105 are boys and 51 are girls.
