Jerusalem, 11 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The government of Israel approved an allocation of 59 million Shekels ($17 million) for social leisure programs that integrate Children and youth with disabilities and children and youth without disabilities. This is an increase of 12.5 million Shekels ($3.6 million) compared to the investment in this activity in the previous three years.
The budget is designated for this purpose, and it will be spread over the next three years.
According to the government’s decision, the Ministry of Welfare and Social Security will continue to determine the professional standards for activity, with an emphasis on expanding recreational services for children with disabilities and the long-term integration of children and youth without disabilities with children and youth with disabilities.
The inclusive leisure activity will take place in an accessible meeting place and will also involve the Ministries of Education, Health, Transportation, etc. All activities within the framework will be accessible to children and youth with disabilities at all levels of functioning and across the spectrum of disabilities – autism, physical, sensory, intellectual, developmental or mental disabilities – and will provide them with an adapted response.
