Jerusalem, 5 June, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Minorities Division of the Ministry of Construction and Housing is currently promoting a plan to establish early childhood centers from birth to age 9 in Druze communities in the Golan Heights. The plan was approved as part of the Five-Year Plan for the Development of Druze Communities in the Golan Heights, with a budget of approximately 10 million Shekels ($2.85 million) for five years. The centers will be opened and operated in cooperation with the heads of the Druze authorities in the Golan.
The Ministry noted that there are currently 16 active centers in the Druze and Circassian communities in the Galilee and Carmel, and the program has now been expanded to the Druze communities in the Golan Heights.
The early childhood centers provide comprehensive services to children, parents, and professional teams in the communities. They operate according to an inter-ministerial model, which includes five core areas: detection and prevention, treatment, playroom and enrichment, parent training, and team training.
The activity is carried out through joint work by the local authorities, in full cooperation between the relevant government ministries, including: the Ministry of Construction and Housing, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the National Program for Children and Youth at Risk.
