MFA Dir-Gen Bar Tal speaks with the Secretary of the Nepali MFA

Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eden Bar Tal, spoke today (Tuesday, 14 October 2025) with the Secretary of the Nepali Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amrit Bahadur Rai, following the return of the body of Bipin Joshi, who was murdered while held captive by Hamas, and ahead of the repatriation of his coffin to Nepal.

Dir-Gen Bar Tal expressed his sorrow over the brutal murder of Bipin Joshi by Hamas, and conveyed condolences on behalf of the State of Israel to the government and people of Nepal.

The Director General informed his Nepali counterpart that ceremonies are expected to take place in memory of Bipin Joshi — both upon the departure of his coffin from the airport in Israel and upon its arrival in Nepal, in a ceremony attended by the Israeli ambassador.

Dir-Gen Bar Tal emphasized that the State of Israel will continue to provide Bipin Joshi’s family with the same rights and care that families of murdered Israeli citizens receive.

Nepal’s Foreign Secretary, Bahadur Rai, expressed deep appreciation for the manner in which the State of Israel has handled the difficult case of Bipin Joshi’s abduction.
