Jerusalem, 10 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Police arrested several alleged “senior” members of reputed Arab criminal organizations, as well as several businesspeople and former and current senior officials of the Nazareth Municipality in a case dubbed “The Money Maze.”

The arrests came in a raid, that followed a covert investigation, carried out by hundreds of police officers and police special forces overnight of compounds associated with who authorities called “senior members” of the reputed Kahri crime organization.

The police said the suspects are believed to have taken an active part in transferring massive sums to members of the Kahri organization, thereby causing “severe damage to Nazareth’s economic situation and the quality of life of its residents.”

As part of the investigation, evidence was collected allegedly indicating that the crime organization took control of the municipality’s financial operations and caused senior employees there to take part in the mechanism of transferring funds to the organization and money laundering.

“The Kahri crime organization is linked to extensive criminal activity across the entire northern region, with its center in the city of Nazareth,” said the police. “This organization operates through extortion rackets, shakedowns with threats, takeovers of tenders, and in recent years has been suspected of involvement in a large number of brutal murders stemming from power struggles with other crime organizations.”
