Jerusalem, 8 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — “The cabinet’s decision yesterday to continue powerful activity in Gaza sends a clear message – Israel is determined to achieve the goals of the war: a complete defeat of Hamas, creating the conditions for the return of all the abductees, and ensuring peace in Israeli communities through a strong, perimeter security zone in Gaza. I was authorized, together with the Prime Minister, to approve the IDF plans for implementing the cabinet decisions, and the IDF is already preparing today for the full implementation of the decisions”.

This was the message conveyed by Defence Minister Israel Katz on X today. The minister added that Hamas poses a threat to Israel’s security. “Beyond the terrible massacre it committed, it is an extremist organization that is part of the Muslim Brotherhood movement and continues to strive to destroy Israel. A terrorist organization of this type must not exist in Gaza”, he stressed.

“Our enemies”, said Israel Katz, “will find us as one strong and united fist that will strike them with great force. Countries around the world that condemn and threaten sanctions will not let go of our hands. Gone are the days when Jews did not defend themselves. This is the time for leadership to make decisions”. “We must be worthy of our heroic soldiers, regular and reserve, who are fighting in the Gaza tunnels against the monsters of Hamas, for the families of the kidnapped who are awaiting their loved ones, for the families of the martyrs who gave their lives for the sanctity of God, and for all the wounded who fought like lions to defend the homeland. Together we will do and we will win”, the Defence Minister concluded.
