Jerusalem, 13 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — After weeks of jellyfish-filled waters, the swarms of jellyfish are retreating from Israel’s beaches. Over the weekend, no mass sightings were reported and many beachgoers described clear, sting-free swimming conditions.
“There are still occasional stings, but far fewer than in the past two weeks,” said Dr. Dor Adelist of the University of Haifa. He noted that this year’s swarms were relatively small and appear to have mostly passed. Dr. Adelist encouraged continued public reporting, which helps both swimmers and researchers track jellyfish patterns over time.
