Jerusalem, 23 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s High Court of Justice on Thursday granted the state 30 more days to submit an update on its stance regarding independent journalist access to the Gaza Strip. The decision follows a 2024 petition by the Foreign Press Association (FPA), which has long sought press entry.

During the brief hearing, judges noted that recent changes in Gaza’s security situation, including this month’s ceasefire, warrant a fresh review. While the state cited safety concerns for both soldiers and journalists, the FPA’s attorney urged the court to ensure timely updates and consider interim measures for press access.
