Jerusalem, 17 June, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security said the country’s food stocks are stable, in spite of the continuing war with Iran. The ministry is in close daily contact with farmers, marketers, importers and raw food processing plants, and receives inquiries to the situation room and the service center operating around the clock.
The ministry is monitoring the availability of workers at essential food facilities, such as slaughterhouses and abattoirs, to ensure continued production. It also continues to provide essential services in supervision, granting various regulatory approvals, service at ports, and more.
However, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security continues to see an increase in attempts to smuggle products from the Palestinian Authority into Israel in light of the closure of the goods crossings between Israel and the Authority’s areas. So, inspectors from the Ministry’s Enforcement Unit are increasing their activity and searches along the seam line – border with Palestinian areas – and have prevented several smuggling attempts in recent days since the start of the war.
