Jerusalem, 16 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Defense Minister Israel Katz will depart tonight for a diplomatic visit to Washington, where he will meet at the Pentagon with US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and other senior officials in the American administration.
During his visit, Katz will discuss with his American counterpart a number of security and political issues, primarily Iran and other regional threats, weapons procurement issues, and other strategic cooperation.
The Minister will be accompanied on his visit to the US by the Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Major General (res.) Amir Baram, Major General Oded Besyuk, the IDF attaché in the US, Major General Hedi Zilberman, the Deputy Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Guy Marchisano, and other senior officials.
Katz’s office said he will continue to monitor security developments in Syria, where the Israeli military has launched strikes to prevent a massacre of the minority Druze by the Syrian regime, at all times during his visit.
