Jerusalem, 1 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Health and its National Cyber Directorate are warning the public of a fraudulent campaign operating on social media, which is spreading false information about products such as dietary supplements for treating diabetes or other medical problems. As part of the campaign, promoted posts are distributed, allegedly from senior doctors at the Ministry of Health, who recommend the products in question. The government declared these are “phishing” sites that do not sell products.

The posts are distributed through fake profiles and use real photos of doctors, the logo of the Ministry of Health, the Israeli Diabetes Association, and even the logo of new companies – which gives the appearance of credibility.

These posts are sometimes even distributed with videos produced by artificial intelligence. The links in the posts lead to a fake website that collects personal information and payment details from users. After a request from the Ministry of Health, the National Cyber Directorate worked to remove some of the publications, but there may be additional fraudulent sites.
