Israelis Warned Not to Take Even the Smallest of Weapons Like a Single Bullet Abroad
Jerusalem, 11 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized to the Israeli public that the export of weapons from Israel to other countries is strictly prohibited, including ammunition (bullets, cartridges), weapon parts, tactical items, weapon-like equipment, and collectibles. This applies even to a small item left accidentally on someone’s person.
Violation of the ban may result in delays, investigations, arrests, and even serious criminal proceedings under local law. In such cases, the ability of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Israeli missions to assist is very limited.
Recently, said the Ministry, there have been cases of weapons leaking into the baggage of Israeli passengers, especially following military service and security activities.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on Israelis traveling abroad to act with full responsibility and conduct a thorough inspection of the luggage they are carrying with them before leaving the country:
Bags and suitcases – including internal and hidden pockets;
Military bags or those used for military and reserve service;
Bags that have not been opened for a long time;
