Israeli Military Foils Attempt to Smuggle Weapons from Egypt
IDF thwarts weapons smuggling from Egypt. Drone intercepted near Israel-Egypt border carrying rifles, pistols, and ammo. Israeli military on high alert.
Jerusalem, 21 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons into Israel on the country’s border with Egypt.
This happened when IDF surveillance last night (Wednesday) identified in area near the border a drone that crossed from the Sinai Desert into the territory of the State of Israel in an attempt to smuggle weapons.
IDF fighters located and confiscated the drone, which was carrying six rifles, ten pistols and several ammunition cartridges.
